Blue Gum Forest 2006

May 2006. This was a 2 day bushwalk from Victoria Falls, through the Blue Gum Forest, camping at Acacia Flat, then walking out to Neat's Glen via the Grand Canyon. The transport division of the party came down via Perry's Lookdown.

Breatkfast at Acacia Flat
After a night with a full moon and howling dingoes, the happy campers, Erika, Deborah, Ros, John and Mark, tuck into a hearty breakfast.

Blue Gum
One of the 'mother seed trees' of the blue gum. In 1931, hikers of two bushwalking clubs offered to buy the rights to the land in order to save the trees.  The price was £130 so they raised the money through donations and loans. The trees were saved and managed by the Blue Gum Forest Trust.

Forest Fungi
These fungi were found near the track by Deborah. Further research will be required to identify this fungi.
