WHO OR WHAT ARE WE?

Hills Speleology Club Limited is a caving club affiliated with the Australian Speleological Federation, based in the Hills District of Sydney Australia. We welcome members from all over Sydney and beyond.

WHAT WE DO

Our main activity is caving (both horizontal & vertical systems) which includes exploring, surveying, photography, hydrology, geology, conservation, SRT (Single Rope Technique), first aid, and other interesting stuff. We also go bush walking, rock climbing, skiing, kayaking, and we have helped Karst land owners plant trees, and National Parks restore historic buildings and clear caves of debris. From time to time there are also some expeditions to some more remote caving areas like Nullarbor, Tasmania and New Zealand. Regular field days are conducted to introduce new members to caving, including rope and ladder techniques.

Our club conducts regular training and social meetings where photos of trips are shown, instructional training and talks of special interest are presented, planning and committee meetings are held. Our social and training meetings are held at 8:00pm on the first WEDNESDAY of each month.
