| Hey Donkey !! Met at the stile on Saturday morning after driving through mixed sunny / rain from Sydney. A latish start of 9:45am saw us puffing up the track to the saddle. After dumping packs we edged around the catwalk and climbed up to the southern end of DM to see the views and have an explore. Back to the packs for lunch then amble along the central section, exploring and viewing. Set up camp near the top of the 'wide ramp' and spent till dark exploring Jenny Craig`s fissure, views to Emirates and spots between. Spent a cool night chatting and dining till the wee hours .... about 9 o`clock .... must be getting old ! Sunday saw the early birds catch the fog in the valley. Soon all up and packed and wander to the Grand entrance and once more dump packs and explore. Backtrack to Donkey Canyon, Titanic and places in between. Climbed Eagle Rock and poked around Fig tree and Fairy. Back to packs for lunch and then explore the Freeway and environs. Set off down the 'Steep Entrance' ..... which is .....steeep. Back at the cars mid arvo for an easy drive home. | |
