Trip report

2014-08-30 Cliefden Caves at Cliefden, Central West
Trip report:
We arrived from about 9:30pm to find Doug and Mary Ann had settled in and begun the fire. It was a cool night with a light frost.
Saturday Morning we met Anthony Dunhill and gave him the permit and collected keys.
Next stop was Main Cave CL1 where we used the disto to create a depth survey and to introduce Emily to the cave and Doug and Mary Ann to the through trip.
On exit we found that Mike had arrived and had lunch with Mark, Elanor, Brodie and Emily at the cars.
We then drove down to the river crossing and explored the limestone to find Transmission CL8, and Casuarina CL32 as well as CL35 which is described as 2 m long but when pushed consists of a cleft that goes up a possible 8 m.
On Sunday we said goodbye to Doug and Mary Ann. The team then split and some went for a walk to investigate the Fossil hill and Trilobite hill while the others did the depth survey of Taplow maze.
All finished by Lunch. A quick tidy up at the hut and we were on our way by about 2:30pm.
Upon Number crunching Main cave goes to 48 m from the tag While Taplow has a depth of about 22m to Deepest point.
Thanks to all who attended
Dave
