Trip report:
On Saturday morning,Bryden, Ros, Harry, Grant, Scott, Tadhg, Rick, Callum and Kate walked up McKeowns Creek to Wiburds Cave.  Past Mammoth Flat the creek was running.  We went into Wiburds via the J101 entrance then down to the Lake Chamber where a stream was flowing.  We then proceeded down the passage past the Dyke stopping before Neddys Knock.  On the way back a side trip was made to the bottom of Yawning Gulches.  The stream was draining quickly towards the site of Henrys Dig.  We then exited the cave at 2pm.  Kate and Callum left us while the rest of us had a lesisurely lunch beside the creek.

After lunch we proceeded to Hennings Cave.  We went past that! well known decoration, then via the maze passages into the Straw Chamber.  Some scats posssibly from a possum were noticed in a side pasage.

On Sunday we went into Mammoth Cave.  After visiting the Railway Tunnel and Horseshoe Cavern we rigged a ladder down the 40'.   All abseiled down without problems.  We then followed the main passages to Lower River.  The line of flood debris from a few weeks ago was about 2m above the normal level.  Everyone was able to climb the laddder without problems despite the constricted head of the pitch.

As we exited the cave we heard a huge rumble.  After momentarry alarm of a thought of something collapsing we quickly realised it was a thunderstorm reverberating from outside.

Then a delightful wet walk back to the cavers cottage in a hailstorm.
