2005-12-03 | Christmas Party at Basin View |
Trip report: | |
Friday night and BOM site showed a nice band a rain running right from Sydney to Nowra! Looks like its going to be a wet trip. Rod and I chased the tail end of the rain all the way to Basin View. The Bowman’s had already arrived and the Young’s rolled up soon after. The thought of all these kids (both young and old) stuck in the house all weekend due to the rain was a worry! Next morning there was not a cloud in sight! After lounging around most of the morning some of us decided to be very active and take a walk to the local shop. When we got back Jo and Mike had arrived along with Deborah and the Barnes. After lunch we headed out for a walk along the river where Mike, Mark and myself had a discussion if it was a stick in the water or a small water snake. I still am convinced that it was a snake, since when do sticks move like that! On return the snacks were opened and the barbeque was warmed up. One the age old debate about whether the stakes should be turned once or multiple times was sorted, dinner was served. It was agreed that the club should not grow any larger as we only JUST fitted around the main table. After the pudding (Thanks to Mark and Elanor) the brain storming for the next “Major†trip. I was decided that we are going to Chillagoe and Mike conned us into a walk over Hinchenbrook island. Sunday we headed down to the water to work off dinner from last night! After having a very lazy morning/afternoon around the water we packed up and headed home. Thanks to Rod and his Mum for allowing us to use the holiday house, makes for a great Christmas/end of year party. Report by: David Taberner |
