Trip report:
Kowmung Walk - Easter 2016

After a small car shuffle ..... well a Golf is small .... we set off at 10-ish down the Uni Rover trail in lovely overcast weather. great for walking.  The Uni Trail follows a ridge line which slowly descends right down to the Kowmung River about 17k away.  The Trail is very well defined at the top end slowly becoming less easily followed to easily lost towards the bottom ..... no big deal as you are on a ridge top anyway.
We met a large group at lunch ....SBW.... and had a nice chat.  Rod and two of their group had been out searching for a missing woman the week beforehand.....smallworld.

Met this group again at the river where they have nabbed the best camping spot !!@#$.

Warm river for swimming and warm night.

Next morning we walked down stream generally finding pads along the sides of the river flat adjacent to the hillside. Although still slow going through boulder fields, prickly bush, sandy flats, rock outcrops and multiple river crossings we have a great day. The scenery is glorious. We stop at a very acceptable campsite just to the south of Christies Creek. Nice swimming again and a warm night.

Sunday repeat saturday except that we stop at a large campsite at the base of Brumby Ridge, again nice swimming and a warm night.

Up early on Monday for the walk out to the Gingra Ridge track and back to Kanangra Walls. Brumby Ridge is a very nice climb out, no scrub, not too steep and a nice pad after a while.

47k ,,,, 1000m down ...... 1000m up. Kim Rick Rod

Plus`s .... Lovely walk, great scenery, good swimming, nice camp spots.

Minus`s ..... Lots of pig damage, some walkers still cant bury their turds!!
